Joey B. Banks is a music entrepreneur, music educator and ,2010 and 2011 Grammy nominated drummer. 2014, 2015, 2017, 2018 and 2020 Madison Area Music Association Drummer of the Year and he is a graduate of the Musicians Institute of Technology in Hollywood California and a proud Madison Scout Drum and Bugle Corps Alumnus.

Joey B specializes in performance and education of Drum kit, Percussive Arts, Hand percussion, Music production, Artist Development, Event promotions, and Artist/Band Bookings (Talent Seller).

Joey B. has performed and recorded drums with more than 100 artists and performance groups locally, regionally, and nationally over 25 years and has been recorded on over 50 albums over the last two decades.

Joey Bs mentor and friend was the "original funky drummer", Clyde Stubblefield. Joey B. frequently sat in with Clyde and the band and was his substitute drummer at his weekly Funky Monday show. Over the last three years prior to Clyde Stubblefield's death on February 18, 2017, Joey B. became the musical director for the Clyde Stubblefield All Stars which is an all star tribute to the late great funky drummer.
These days you can see Joey B. performing with many award winning ensembles and artist which include, The Funkee JBeez, Steely Dane, Don't Mess With Cupid, Gabe Burdulis Band,Lo Marie, and the legendary Madison rock band Honor Among Thieves. 

Joey B is an advocate for youth in performing arts. He currently teaches 25 drum students, and co-directs two groups for Forward Performing Arts, Black Star Drum Line and the Mad Brass Sound Sport Ensemble. He is on the the advisory board for Overture center's Arts Education Roundtable, a resident artist for the Madison Jazz Consortium, and has done residencies, workshops and clinics in many local elementary, middle school and high schools in the Madison area over the years.
